FAQ

I live outside Lithuania and my child's birth certificate was issued abroad. I need to get a birth certificate issued in the Republic of Lithuania, but I am not able to return to Lithuania. Can you collect my child’s birth certificate in Lithuania?

In order to retrieve a birth certificate for your child, you do not need to return to Lithuania. We can collect such documents for you in Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda.

What do I have to do to get these documents?

Firstly, you should contact us in order that we can find out exactly what services you need and whether we can help you with your particular case. Then you will have to provide a power of attorney notarised by a foreign notary to the employee of AIRV translation bureau. Mail us the original of this power of attorney along with the foreign birth certificate that has been certified with an apostille. We will translate the documents into the Lithuanian language, notarise them and with your power of attorney retrieve your documents.

What documents can you retrieve for me?

In Lithuania, we can get your child's birth certificate, a duplicate birth certificate, a marriage certificate, and a certificate of marital status. For other documents, please contact us by e-mail at info@airv.lt.

What other services you provide?

If necessary, we can translate and notarise documents. We can also have the documents legalised or certified with an apostille at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

How will I receive these documents that you’ve retrieved on my behalf?

When we have all your documents, we will send them to you by registered mail or courier service.

How much does this service cost?

The service price depends on the exact services you need. These fees could include the collection, translation, and notarisation of the document; apostille costs; state contributions; and courier services.
