Quality assurance

Customer Inquiry

The client places an inquiry. A project manager is assigned to the project. He/she then determines the project volume, the price, the delivery deadline and is in charge of the entire project.

Project coordination

The source documents are then reviewed to evaluate the degree of technicality; the project manager then checks if glossaries, be they the client’s or industry’s, are available and sees if any potential issues may arise. Then translators are assigned to the particular project. A binding quote follows and an agreement is signed. Final preparations are made before the project is implemented.

Translation

The translation is done by one or more translators (mostly in-house translators and, if appropriate, freelancers). Translation memory tools are used. The translator uses materials provided by the client or others in his possession.

Quality Assurance

If so requested by the client, the translated document is delivered to the proof-reader with specific expertise (e.g. medical, legal, automotive, etc.) for review. The proofreading is carried out by language professionals. At this stage, the emphasis is placed on vocabulary, text readability and style, checking for grammar and spelling errors.

Editing/Proofreading

The project manager proceeds to the checking of the layout to comply with client requirements and preparation for publishing.

Delivery

The document is delivered to the client for review and feedback.

Feedback

After reviewing the document, the client shares its opinion and comments. In case of any inconsistencies, the document is returned for corrections to the degree acceptable by the client.

Selection of translators

Translators are selected based on their education (proof must be presented), test results, testimonials and experience (at least 2 years of translation experience required).
